EVENTS AND SEMINARS

The Maryland Public Purchasing Association, Inc., (MPPA) is dedicated to advancing the professional goals of its members and other individuals who may be seeking a career in public procurement. Many educational opportunities are available to advance the professional goals of individuals in, or seeking a career in, public procurement, thereby increasing their competency, enhancing their career opportunities and improving the quality of their professional life.

MPPA has funds available to help members with their education through scholarships and reimbursement.

The Zemansky Scholarship was established to provide financial aid for courses, programs, and seminars related to public procurement, contracting, materials management, inventory control, specifications development, contract administration, contract negotiations and other related subjects.

Certification Examination Reimbursement is available for members in an effort to further promote the objectives of the MPPA, by offering reimbursement to MPPA members in good standing who successfully achieve CPPO, CPPB or C.P.M. certification.

The fee schedule established by NIGP for 2010 follows. You must register and pay for the class the designated number of days prior to the first day of class to receive the discount rate(s):

NATIONAL MEMBER
Register 60 or more days before the event: Pay only $335
Register 31-59 days before the event: Pay only $360
Register 30 days or less prior to the event: Pay $410

NON-MEMBER
Register 60 or more days before the event: Pay only $475
Register 31-59 days before the event: Pay only $500
Register 30 days or less prior to the event: Pay $550

MPPA will no longer provide refreshments at their hosted NIGP classes. People who wish to do so can purchase drinks from the vending machines available in the building.
