As purchasing professionals, we should continuously seek opportunities to grow our purchasing knowledge. We are the stewards of taxpayers’ dollars and it is important for us to effectively maximize the spending benefits on behalf of our constituents. MPPA offers many educational opportunities and sponsors NIGP courses. These courses cover professional procurement training as well as personal leadership development.
Some benefits of taking these NIGP sponsored classes include:

If you are seeking additional training but your agency does not have the budget to fund training, you have options. Remember – as a member of MPPA, you may be eligible to obtain a scholarship to cover the course fees. The award criterion is based on the agency’s ability to pay. As the President of this great organization, I encourage all purchasing professionals to support the Association’s educational programs.
Our organization is also gearing up to host the 2011 NIGP Forum on the National Harbor. The conference will offer a variety of purchasing educational workshops. As you can see, there are unlimited training opportunities.
